What the Clan Heritage Report is

The report is a free piece of research we prepare to help you understand your family's Scottish connections and what a journey to those places might involve. It is provided for general interest and travel planning.

Heritage research depends on records that are incomplete, inconsistently spelled, and in many cases lost. We use recognised sources and local knowledge, and we are clear in the report about what is established and what is likely. We cannot and do not guarantee that we will locate any particular ancestor, grave, house or record, and the report should not be treated as a professional genealogical certification or as legal proof of descent.

What we are not

We are a private tour operator. We are not a genealogy service, an archive, a DNA testing company, or a provider of legal or heraldic advice. We do not take payment for research.

Prices and quotes

Any prices mentioned on this site, including the guideline starting figure for a private journey, are indicative only. They vary with season, party size, duration, accommodation and availability. A price becomes binding only when it is set out in a written quotation from us and accepted by you, at which point our separate booking terms and conditions apply.

Using the site

You may use this site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Please do not attempt to interfere with it, scrape it, or use automated systems to submit the form. The text, design and images on this site belong to us or to our licensors and may not be copied or reproduced without our permission.

Information you give us

Please give us accurate information, and only share other people's details where you are entitled to. What we do with it is set out in our privacy policy.
